While temperatures may vary depending on how you like your chicken, the lowest temperature while still being safe is 165 degrees F. Once the inside has reached that temperature, you may take it off the grill. BEFORE you eat though, cut through the chicken and make sure its cooked.
Any temperature you wish, depending on how fast you want to cook it. A medium temperature will be the best. The key to grilling is slow, so that the heat penetrates the chicken and cooks it all the way through without burning the outside.
You must use a meat thermometer to get this right. The temperature inside the breast should indicate 160 degrees to ensure the meat is fully cooked. I grill mine at 375 degrees.
