More than likely the brake light switch is defective or out of adjustment.
To force the dash lights to stay bright on a 1984 Corvette, simply turn the dial to its highest setting. The dial can be found to the left of the steering wheel. On some makes, however, the dial is located near the odometer.
The most frequent problem with headlamps on 1984 z is the switch that connects to the control at the steering wheel (follow instructions to dissemble the steering column under shields) replace switch and kiss problems goodbye. the metal paddles are build to light in the OEM part (this should have been a recall)
check brake lite switch under dash check power toit if so power out (orange and white )if good go to trunk driver side look for rear wiring harness over time wires become brittle and crack this is where the open will be
It was made when it was none of your buisness
Hot Pursuit - 1984 was released on: USA: 22 September 1984
It's by the break switch to the left of the break pedal.
its probably not a fuse at all, but it could be your brake light switch. its under the dash hooked to the pedal. I had to replace one on my 84 t-bird
Yes it will
There are three possibilities.1 The cheapest to fix and the most likely scenario is the same problem that I had on my 1984 300zx turbo. There is a small dime sized rubber part on the brake pedal that depresses a small brake switch when you push down on the brake pedal. This turns the brake lights on. When this is removed or falls off, there is nothing to depress the switch and so the lights stay on. There is a similar part on the clutch pedal. I was quoted over $100. to fix this brake switch problem until I found out what it really was, bought the part and fixed it myself. Took about 10 minutes.Order these parts from your Nissan dealer.2 of 46584-S0100 = $1.76 each1 of 46512-H0101 = $0.91 each (manual transmission only)I have had both problems with my 86 300zx. The brake pedal has a switch for the brake lights. it can slip out of place and always be 'open' causing the lights to stay on. a quick fix is to replace the switch or affix it in place by some means.Problem #2 could be a bad contact in the light switch on the column. I had this go bad also. It should cost about $163 to have the dealer replace it or if you are good enough, take it off, take it apart and clean the contacts, reassemble and reinstallHad the same problem with my 86 300zx turbo go to http://z31.com/repairs/brakepedal/ and it will give you the part # to get the part from Nissan it coast only few bucks to fix
yes
if it looks the same shape as the old one yes
No, it's fuel injected.
On a 1984 Nissan 300ZX the fuel pump turns on with the key. For a couple of seconds to pressurize the fuel system for initial start-up. Once the engines oil pressure has raised to normal operating pressure. The fuel pump remains on.
I had an 85 same problem with lights had to replace the switch on steering column about 150.00 for part from Nissan
