There is no crank sensor on a 1986 camaro z28.. that sensor is in the camaros past 1988 i believe.. but the 1986 carb or fuel injection (tpi) does not have one

It is located on your transmission. You can identify it because it has teeth on the end of it(you can see when it is pulled out of your transmission). Take that out, then disconnect the wire connector and put your new one in place of it
It all depends on what is wrong with it but most of the time you have to tear it apart to replace parts in it and if you have never done it your better off just buying a new one.

you first have to drop the transmition. there is one bolt on the transmission support and 4 on the engine . after that you will have to separate the pressure plate from the flywheel and then change the clutch
