( Yes ) you might have an internal leak to the engine
Is the engine oil level going up , or look " milky "
With the engine warmed up and running is there white smoke coming from the exhaust pipe
Look for leaking antifreeze/coolant. Usually you can see it leaking around the top of the engine. Also check your oil, if it looks milky it has been mixed with coolant and you intake manifold gasket is leaking. That being said, it is possible to have a leaking intake gasket with no sign of leaking antifreeze. Most intake manifold issues/leaks are coupled with poor engine performance and even sputtering and lack of power.
Heater core is possible, coolant could be leaking externally onto engine and giving off that smell. Ruptured, cracked or leaking bypass hose; Ruptured, cracked or leaking heater hose; Worn or damaged radiator cap; Rusted, corroded, or damaged radiator may be leaking antifreeze/coolant; Loose, damaged, or faulty radiator drain plug; Worn or damaged cooling fan motor or circuit; Thermostat stuck closed; Cracked or leaking water outlet/hose; Damaged, worn or leaking water pump; Leaking or defective heater control valve; Freeze plugs are cracked or leaking. to smell burning anti freeze it would need to be leaking onto engine. most likely a small leak in a coolant hose somewhere, and even if it is heater core , it is sure not going to cost 500 bucks a heater core doesnt even cost 100 bucks to buy and they are easy to install
do you mean your camshaft seal? and if so how much is it leaking? a steady stream or slight seepage? if it's leaving drips on the ground have it looked at for sure. if not it depends on the age of the vehicle if you even want to look at it or not
If it is not leaking externally then it is leaking internally. The intake manifold gaskets are known to leak coolant into the engine on that vehicle. Have a trusted mechanic diagnose the problem soon because coolant mixing with engine (even in small amounts) oil will cause big trouble down the road.
Sort of. You can have a short to ground, which is basically electricity leaking from a charged conductor to a ground. It's dissipating without doing any useful work, so it's leaking, even if it's not called that. It can also be dangerous, should you come into contact with the wire that is shorting, and it decides to ground via you.An electrician can help you with the problem, and can figure out if it's happening.
This could be the frost pulg located just behind your starter did you have antifreeze in the rad or water? This could be the frost pulg located just behind your starter did you have antifreeze in the rad or water?
yeah
Most antifreeze is the same. You can use any brand of automobile antifreeze; even the cheap stuff. Just remember to make it into a solution of 50% antifreeze to 50% water before putting it in your car.
i recommend a ground or a rock type, considering they dont get hurt by electric types. Dont even try putting flying types out there though.
get to higher ground as fast as possible even if sirens dont go off better safe thatn sry
If it is white, Then it is not oil. It is engine coolant / Antifreeze burning / leaking into the combustion chamber. You either have got it to hot and it blowed a head gasket are even have warped the head. You need to pressure test the coolant system to make sure.
As long as the engine didn't overheat you should be O.K.
