there is no adjustment available because the motor uses hydraulic lifters. If you are having problems with the rockers, you can check the torque, they should be 19ftlbs from rocker arm shaft to the head

haha, i own a 96 sl2, same problemMine was the fan switch was bad, so i would look at that first, easyer and cheaper.if not, i would flush the system, and while doin that, talk a look at the thermostat it also could be bad.
