After hip replacement, you will eventually be able to do most normal activities, but you should check with your doctor and/or physical therapist as to what exercises are appropriate at any given time in your recovery process. The doctor or p.t. may also recommend other exercises to do instead of sit-ups. In particular, traditional sit-ups place unnecessary strain on your back.
