Quick answer, no. It is impossible to spot reduce fat. That is what Liposuction does. In order to lose belly fat you must have a good balance between diet, cardio, and strength training. Simple equation: use more calories than you eat.

If you're trying to lose fat off your stomach, doing ab exercises will not do the slightest thing about that. You cannot lose fat locally, only from your entire body simultaneously. The relatively small size of your abs compared to the big, hungry muscles like your legs, glutes, chest and back muscles, means that they can only do a tiny bit for your metabolism. The only thing you'll get is strong abs hidden by the exact same amount of fat you had when you started. Which is something. Do not believe the myth of AbTronics, Body By Jake or any other crappy daytime TV products. They are ALL opportunistic liars, using models who were buff anyway.

It might do some good but it is not an effective way to lose belly fat.

Sit ups only work out those muscles. But that fat will go no where ! Reducing your calorie intake and eating carbs early in the day is a good first step.

Short of liposuction there is no way to target fat reduction, you have to go on a diet and lose weight all over.

Doing situps and crunches can help a little by tighten your stomach muscles a bit.

Considering burning calories=burning fat, yes working on an exercises will burn some fat. However target fat loss is impossible.

To lose stomach fat quickly I'd suggest a full body workout mixed with some cardio training. And eating well.

Working only abs could actually increase the size of your stomach seeing as the muscle will build quicker then the fat is lost

Those that say it’s unhealthy to try ketogenic seem to be promoting the current western diet that gives you a 1–3 chance of either high blood pressure, obesity or Diabetes. So I think we can assume that the ‘normal’ way to eat is actually not that healthy! Anyway I digress…

To explain the Ketogenic diet in layman’s terms. Ketogenic comes from the word ketones, the fuel source the body uses instead of glucose.

Be a fat burner not a sugar burner

Glucose burning is predominant as we live in a world of refined carbohydrates and sugars. But that’s not the natural way the body should run. When you eat meats (or protein from vegetables) and saturated fats you’re eating what the body is designed to eat. Quite simply you reboot your body to go back to being a fat burning machine.

Anyone that has lost weight by calorie deficit or eat less move more has done it because (not by design) they’ve lowered their carbohydrates by simply reducing all food. They didn’t need to lower everything!
