Is it possible to just eliminate the egr in my '87 Chevy S10 2.5 liter pickup? I find on cold days it runs very well but after it is warm it bucks and surges.

On my 1995 Ford EXPLORER ( which has the 4.0 liter OHV / pushrod design / VIN " X " engine ) the EGR valve is just to the left of the engine oil dipstick ( when looking into the engine compartment from the drivers side ) It is lower down and has a round top on it
