1.5 Gallon? That is a small tank even for a betta and two neon tetras. A typical rule of thumb is 1 inch of fish per gallon of water, so you should only have 1.5 inch of fish. A betta is 2 inches or more, so the neons would be asking for trouble. Both type of fish are great, so my advice would be to get a bigger tank and put them together. Neons are schooling fish and would like to be in groups of three or more.
You should only have 1 fish per gallon of water in a fish tank. I wouldn't put more than 2 or 3 Neon Tetras in a 4 gallon aquarium with 1 Betta.
No
If it is a 15 gallon tank or less than yes.
You can put at least 5 neon tetras with Betta's because neon tetras need to be in a school. If you only put 1-3 neon tetras, then they will probably be eaten by the Betta because you won't have enough neon tetras to be in a school. The purpose for a school is to protect themselves from predators with a group and if you only have 1-3 neon tetras, then they will hide and get really stressed out. So, get at least 5 neon tetras and another important thing is, get a big enough tank for your Betta and neon tetra. That is, because, as you know, Betta fish are territorial and need their own territory and if the neon tetras enter their territory (if the tank is small), then the Betta will probably attack (that is only if you don't have enough neon tetras and not a big enough tank). So, it is important to get at least a 10- 15 gallon tank and get at least 5 neon tetras for 1 Betta fish. 1-3 neon tetras won't work. They will not be in a school and will be stressed out and hide from the Betta. A thing about neon tetras that is interesting and is cool is that, neon tetras bury their eggs in the gravel (Make sure to only have gravel!) if their eggs are not going to hatch. Also eat them.~Thank you, and good luck!~
No, but some tank mates you can consider if your betta is in a 10 gallon tank are neon tetras, rasboras, white cloud minnows, or even some ghost shrimp.
yes. 3 or 4 neon tetras can live in a 5 gallon tank. they are also fairly cheap.Type your answer here...
The problem will not be the tetras coexisting with the Bettas. It will be the female Betta. She will undoubtedly be killed by the male. He may well spawn her first but afterwards, if she is left in his presence he will kill her. Also if he has ova or fry to look after he will kill the tetras in defence of his young.
When a female Betta is introduced to a male Betta one of two things will happen. The male will build a bubble nest and try to spawn the female and during the courting time he will drive off any other occupants of the tank and kill them if they can not escape (hide successfully). He does this in order to protect his prospective young. If she fails to spawn he will drive her off and kill her if she is not removed. In other words you can not keep a male Betta with another Betta (male or female) without trouble. The Tetras will be perfectly OK with a Betta female OR a Betta male. Not the two (pair) that you are proposing. The general rule that all experienced and successfull aquarists live by is a fish needs 1 gallon of water per inch of body length. Work it out.
Bettas are generally kept in their own private tank, since they can be quite vicious to other fish.
Sounds good, okay, if you get a MALE betta, (bigger with longer fins) then you can only have one, one betta that is, the ONLY other kinds of fish that can live with a MALE betta are neon tetras and other very small peaceful fish, no barbs or danios eather, they are fin bitters are there.. twitchey swimming annoys the peaceful better, al so called the Siamese fighting fish, because the males will kill nearly anything in there path, even a female if it is not mating time, but the female bettas, are a little smaller with much sorter fins, are very good little fish, i have 5 in a 40 gallon tank with rainbow sharks, neon tetras, gouramis, 1 gold fish, and alot more. but in a 10 gallon tank, you could have ether 1 male, and up to 5 neon tetras. OR, up to 4 FEMALES, and up to 3 neon tetras, never get less than 3 neons though, they are schooling fish, its quite adorable :D also, there is another kind of fish, called a cardinal tetra, they are just a bigger version of a neon tetra, they are okay too, just take the larger size into account, and use common sense, good luck =D
i wouldnt recommend it as neon tetras should be kept in schools of 5 and the stress couldnt easily kill the tetra
NO!!! Lizards should only be kept with other lizards of their own species. Some kinds of lizards are fine by themselves. Waste from the lizard is poisonous to fish. Also, Lizards do not need a lot of water, where would the fish go? Lizards don't swim. The lizard would eat the fish. Male betta fish are best housed by themselves, or in a 10 gallon or bigger tank with neon tetras, or other gentle community fish. Also, never house a male betta with another male betta, or a female betta. They will fight until their death. Females can be kept together. Three do fine in a ten gallon tank. NEVER put bettas with fish that have long flowing or colorful fins, the betta will mistake it for another betta and kill it.
