1)Click the menu button on your Amazon Kindle 2nd Generation and scroll down to the Experimental menu. Push the square trackball in and the Experimental page will appear

Click the menu button and select the Enter URL and type 'the internet address' of your email provider. For example, if you were a Hot-mail user, enter the URL www.hotmail.com

Type your login and password and you can successfully check your email on Kindle. You also have the ability to browse any website that you wish. You can read email, check news, and check the weather for free.

How do you convert ebooks to kindle format?
Kindle reads non-DRM mobi very well. Amazon has a special service where you can send your documents to them and they'll automatically convert them into .azw (Kindle) format. It's free if you send the email with the document attached to the _____@free.kindle.com address (your address id goes instead of the line), and you'll get the document in an email and can then transfer it on the Kindle using the USB cable. If you're willing to pay a few cents for whispernet delivery, you can send the document to _____(yourID)@kindle.com and they'll send the document directly to the Kindle in a few minutes. If you go to "Manage your Kindle" on your Amazon page, you can set how much you're willing to pay for these transfers, so that you don't accidentally order a very expensive wireless transfer.
