this depends upon your abilities and knowledge. with the right tools and lots of knowledge you can put any engine in the Jeep. you may have to do some major modifications depending upon the engine.
the big question is, is it worth the time and money.
Yes you should be able to make this swap.
It is not a direct swap. They are not the same engine. The Jeep is an old AMC engine, the other is Chrysler.
yes.
right to left? NO. for another jeep, same generation, yes
If you can find driveshafts to match the yokes.
Not as a direct swap. It was never offered in that year. But anything is possible for enough money.
The answer is yes. They have the same bolt pattern which is 5x4.5"....so practically you can interchange rims between Cherokees from 1986 or '87 with newer Cherokee's and grand Cherokee's until they changed the body style(1999 I think)
With a welder, torch, big freaking hammer, and an unlimited bank account, anything is possible! Practical? No.
There is no other direct swap.
Yes you can
That should be a good swap, it should fit
Undo the screws holding the AC to the bottom of the dash, let ti drop down, then you can get to the heater core box nuts that hold the core box to the firewall, remove the nuts, remove core box from jeep, open up core box clean out 30 years of accumulated crap, swap new core in, assembly is just the reverse.
