NO, my god no
No. Almost always the oil pump is mechanically driven by the rotation of the engine. When you turn it over, the pump also turns.
The crank for a 350 Chevy turns clockwise or to your right if standing in front of the motor .
No. Compression still occurs and the motor should be very , very hard, if at all possible to turn by hand without a great deal of leverage. Removing the spark plugs - and making sure it's in neutral (so your not trying to turn anything else or a locked transmission) would make it much easier.
problably your crank positioning sensor, on the front of motor, behind crank pulley. about a $40.00 dollar part. good luck
From the subjective word 'crank' I think you have a dead battery. Not enought juice to turn the motor over...
There's a nut/bolt on the front of the motor in line with the crank shaft, actually on the front of the crank. Find a wrench/socket that fits and turn the crank/motor until it lines up. D.Werkman123

does the motor spin..ie..crank? if no possible locked up engine..try spinning it by hand..correct size socket on front crank bolt turning clockwise.. possible bad starter motor does the starter engage when the key is in the crank possition. if the motor does crank your looking at a fuel or ignition problem
i think you're a little confused, the odometer is not supposed to turn when cranking the vehicle
Push the starter. Crank the engine. Turn the key.
this can be done by simple removing the dipstick and placing it into the number one plug hole after removing the plug turn the crank and allow dipstick to gently slide to tdc whilst ensuring crank marks are alligned with engine front plate marks.
Turn the crank to lower the jack, it's held in place by raising the slot in the top of the jack onto a tab.
