NO. The center shaft that is inside of the 4-wheel drive transmissions are longer then the 2-wheel drive transmissions to allow the shaft to fit into the transfur case. The only way that it will work is to remove the shaft from the 4x4 trans. and install it in the 2-wheel drive trans. And yes it will fit right in it.
But that requires taking both transmissions compleatly apart to do that switch.
They did not use a 700R4 in 2000 model. It would be a 4L60E.
The THM700 was renamed "4L60" (RPO M30) following the new General Motors naming convention, when the electronic version, 4L60-E, was phased in. This happened in 1993 for trucks, vans, and SUVs, and 1994 for rear wheel drive passenger cars. Around 1996, a bolt-on bell housing was phased in (along with a six-bolt tailhousing) when the transmission was bolted behind an inline four cylinder or the Vortec engine family. The 4L60-E is rated to handle up to 360 ft
i have a 2 wheel drive and someone said i can have his 4 wheel drive but drive train is gone can i use mine and make the 4 wheel drive into a 2 wheel drive
No
Yes and no, you would need to have a two wheel drive rear drive shaft.
72 amp for 2 wheel drive and 90 amp for 4 wheel drive.
to use 4 wheel drive, both front and rear ends must have same gear ratio. if you dont want to use 4 wheel drive,u can change rear ratio, but remove front drive shaft so as not to accidently engage 4 wheel drive and trash your transmission
No, There are, rear engine, mid engine and all wheel drive applications as well
== == == == == == Its always 2 wheel drive unless you put it in 4 wheels drive. The optional Quadratrac 4 wheel system is basically an AWD system and the only way to use it in 2 wheel drive would be to remove the front drive shaft which is not recommended.
Of course they do they are the same thing because cars only have 4 wheels, so it would be the same as an all wheel drive.
2 wheel drive, yes. 4 wheel drive, no.
The FX4 F-250 is an automatic 4 wheel drive although there is also a manual system that you can use to switch from 2 wheel drive to four wheel drive.
