1) Either your cable is frayed inside the cable sheath. (inexpensive, oil the new cable and sheath on replacement)

2)Or the clutch "push-rod" is wearing through the plate and in a short while will fail and need a new clutch. (expensive)

3)Or the little lever on the last housing has slipped on its splined shaft and you need a new one (inexpensive)

How do you disconnect the clutch cable from the pedal in a 1993 Astra. Need to change clutch cable but can't get it off the pedal.?

I recently had the dubious pleasure of replacing my girlfriend's clutch cable on a 1994 Vectra.Take the cable off at the clutch arm end obviously, unless it snapped, then strip the panel in the driver's footwell.Lie on your back inside the car and look up.You will see that there is a small hole in the clutch pedal mounting. Also, you will see one end of the return spring for the pedal itself, prise the spring out of its retaing groove with a screwdriver. The old cable can easily be removed, then fit the new one.Afterwards fit the return spring again. Its the spring itself that keeps the cable in.It looks a bit daunting, but its really not that bad.Just make sure you dont do this job in the lashing rain when its dark.with people asking "are you done yet?" every 8 seconds, also it might be a good idea to bring a bazooka to blow the car to holy hell if you do not suceed lol

How do you adjust the clutch in a 1996 Mazda B2300?

these new clutches dont really have an adjustment per se but you can adjust the pedal travel to gain some time before replacement is necessary. At the floorboard where the clutch pedal is connected to the master cylinder there is a long threaded bolt through a bracket with 2 nuts on it.Move the nuts toward the end of the bolt and you will activate the clutch earlier in the pedal push. This is only for temporary help, it may not help at all depending on the condition of the clutch disk, be prepared to replace it very soon.

How do you fix the clutch pedal on your 93 Suzuki Sidekick- it seems to be disconnected and just lies on the floor?

no fluid, it has a mechanical clutch cable. just like a bicycle brake cable. just bigger and beefier. there can be many causes: cable bad. pedal end feel off. bell houusing end fell off or the nut on end fell off. the throw out bearing , melted to nothing left. the clutch fingers have melted and bent due to above. the clutch plate cracked and broke up to chunks. seem them all but , bad cable. easy to test, 1 person push pedal , other look at clutch rod. if it dont move 3 inches , then cable is bad. if it does move then clutch is bad. 3 pieces, PedAL, CABLE, CLUTCH.

How do you bleed the master clutch cylinder on a 1994 Ford Ranger?

Have someone sit in the truck and pump the pedal 4-5 times slowly ( pushing the pedal all the way down and up each time ) and on the last pump have your buddy hold the pedal to the floor then you open the valve on the slave and let the fluid out ( dont let them release the pedal until you close the valve or you will suck air back in) do this this a few times until the pedal feels good. If you are alone and dont have someone to help you, you can just open the valve and let it GRAVITY BLEED. As we all know fluid is heavier than air so after awhile the fluid will push out the air in the system. Keep checking the reservoir as you dont want to run it dry.

How do you bleed a clutch on a vivario van?

You need to find the slave cylinder (located on transmission) and have someone hold the pedal down then open valve and close when fluid stops coming out then they can release the pedal and repeat, hold pedal down (and dont move) open bleeder valve and close when fluid stops coming out, keep repeating and make sure the clutch fluid reserve does not go dry because you do not want air in system. Keep doing this until no more air comes out or you see new fluid (depending on what your trying to do). If you are trying to get clutch pedal stiffer and bleeding it does not work you may need to replace master and/or slave cylinders.
