In the short time that Oswald lived after Kennedy's assassination, he consistantly denied shooting Kennedy, so it would not be possible that he would give a reason for doing it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_harvey_oswald#Assassination_of_JFK says:

Oswald was interrogated several times during his two days of detention at Dallas Police Headquarters. He denied killing President Kennedy or Officer Tippit, denied owning a rifle, said two photographs of him holding a rifle and a pistol were fakes, denied knowing anything about the forged Selective Service card with the name "Alek J. Hidell" in his wallet, denied telling his co-worker he wanted a ride to Irving to get curtain rods for his apartment, and denied he had been seen carrying a long heavy package to work the morning of the assassination.

Oswald wanted to be important and historical. He didn't just keep a diary, he called it a Historic diary! He defected to the USSR, found out he was a nobody there too, made arrangements to come back and planned what to tell the media on arrival... but nobody bothered to cover the story of his return. He screwed up an assassination attempt on a general earlier the same year, and had made plans what to say if captured.

Then, he did manage to become historic, the bad way. He tried to contact a leftist lawyer he'd heard of... clearly he was hoping for a big showy trial. Then the Dallas police dragged him in front of one unsearched crowd after another, until they found what they obviously wanted, a crowd with someone in it who was just as nutty.

His last act on this Earth was to raise his (handcuffed) fist to his head in the well known Communist "Knuckle-Head" sign.

Yes. In real life there has never been solid reason to imagine otherwise. No person, other than Oswald, has been placed in the area with Oswald's rifle, or anyone else's either.

The President was hit twice, not 3 times. Oswald was a pretty good Marine-trained sharpshooter. The footage at Z312-313 shows Oswald's bullet, from the back, knocking his head forward about 3 inches in one frames' time. The head then spews forward and to the right, twisting him back and to the left. The beveling of bone at the entrance point proves the bullet came from the back. At the moment of this shot, there was a concrete wall between the president and the suspected Grassy Knoll sniper, "Badgeman". Who, by the way, would have been about the size of a cat. Other areas would not have given a sniper much hope... like trying to fire through a picture frame before the President got out of range. Dale K. Myers did a computer model that shows that the only thing that works is Oswald's position (where he was seen). For example, the suspected sewer sniper could only have shot JFK in the elbow! And a sniper in the Dal-Tex building would have to be floating high above the roof!

While some like to claim, without proof or even evidence, that the evidence was somehow magically altered, there is no actual reason to think so, except to try and cover the rather embarrassing fact that a Leftist killed Kennedy. They even go so far as to try to blame intelligence groups, for no solid reasons whatsoever. The fact remains that the bullet bevel proves the bullet came from the rear, as does the fact that the bullet tearing away Kennedy's head to the front right, would of course cause (Newton's laws, you know) the remaining part to spin back and to the left. A bullet from the Knoll, if one could have been fired at that instant, would have come out the LEFT side of Kennedy's head... and of course no such thing happened.
No one is exactly sure who assassinated him. James Files confessed and Lee Harvey Oswald was sentenced for it.

It is likely that he was shot but Oswald probably had some help. Three shots were fired into Kennedy and Oswald only had about 7 seconds to do this. Witnesses said they heard shots coming from the Grassy Noll and many people also think the limo driver had a prt to play in the assassination. About 2 seonds before Kennedy was shot in the back of the head it looks like the driver pulls a pistol out and turns around, if you look close enough you can see some smoke come from the object the driver had. Then when shot the driver quikly turned around and started driving fast.
