Mussolini had a great deal to do with World War 2, especially before the war began and in the early part of the war.

* When Hitler moved to annex Austria, Mussolini moved the Italian Army to the Austrian border and backed him down while Great Britain and France did nothing. At that time the Italian Army could have easily handled the German Army. Later, Mussolini and Hitler became friends, and Hitler annexed Austria with no resistance.

* At the Munich Conference in 1938, Hitler and Mussolini used the good cop & bad cop routine to seal the fate of Czechoslovakia, with Hitler as the bad cop making demands, and Mussolini as the good cop holding him back. France and Great Britain backed down and agreed to let Hitler take the German-speaking part of Czechoslovakia. Hitler then took all of it.

* In 1940 Mussolini became jealous of Hitler's easy victories in Europe, and he threw Italy into war on the Axis side. Italy was not prepared for war; more of a liability to the Axis than an asset, and Italy seldom had the upper hand against Great Britain. Yet, Italy (with some help from the Germans) kept Great Britain occupied throughout 1941 and most of 1942. In 1943 Mussolini was overthrown and Italy surrendered to the Allies. Hitler sent paratroopers to rescue Mussolini but in 1945 he was captured again and executed shortly before Hitler committed suicide.

In Literal terms, he did not.

Italy entered World War Two in 1940 and declared War on France. Although Mussolini was not a direct cause for World War Two, he certainly contributed. He turned Italy into a Fascist country. Fascist idealism includes being superior to all other people, very much like Nazism. This desire for power and dominance made Mussolini enter Africa, involving parts of the African continent and thus helping turn the war into a World War.

Pretty much nothing.

See Mussolini only joined the war on Germany's side because he knew that germany wil win. afterwards his army fought and won some battles but eventually started loosing them to a point where hitler would have to send his own army to help his.

At the end he was ousted and italy eventually declared war on germany.
