Do your injectors fire?
You can check this by find the CAS on the front of your engine, it is the metallic part that has the Mitsubishi logo on it. with a 4 prong connection on the right side. (Mark with something the position of the CAS on the part it's bolted to) if you take off the 3 bolts holding it in place. you can CAREFULLY pull it out of it's socket. It will probably take a little bit of prying with a screw driver, take your time and lift it out evenly. It took me 20 minutes to get it out, but it still worked when i put it back in.
When you take it out of the fixture it will have a rod that will turn, it looks like a T. If you put your car to the "On" position, and you SLOWLY turn this rod you should be able to hear the injectors fire in the cylinder.
DONT flood your engine, you can also take out your spark plugs to air out your cylinders or just to hear the injector better. If the injectors fire, then you have fuel going to them and the CAS is working.
Replace this part back in the original position, use a little bit of wd 40 or other lube to get it back on easier. Remember the pole is keyed so it only goes on one way. Line up the marks you made earlier to put it back to the same timing, and bolt it back down.
Regulator problem, not enough info to answer properly.
Need to check fuel pressure with a gauge first. Then check fuel pressure regulator. Need to check fuel pressure with a gauge first. Then check fuel pressure regulator. Fuel pressure regulator.
Try replaceing the filter or the fuel pressure regulator.
I think you're running super rich ( common Z problem ). Most likely a problem with your AFM and not the fuel pressure regulator. I've got a 76 Z myself. I would try replacing the fuel pressure regulator. That was my problem.
Common problem have Solenoid replaced Usually the pressure regulator valve.
your fuel pressure regulator is leaking in your intake manifold, $100 touch for a new regulator, and a few hours of your time to fix.
Yes it will fit but here's the problem. The transmission in the 94 is computer / electronic controlled and it must have all the engine sensors that the 94 engine has to shift right. You would also have to install a fuel pressure regulator to lower the fuel pressure. The 86 engine is NOT a computer controlled engine. You need to install a 1988 through 1995 engine in that truck so you won't have any problems. Then you will be done with it.
I had the same problem with a 98 contour, It was the fuel pressure regulator.
It can be either the IPR (Injector Pressure regulator) or STC Bracket.
Not enough fuel to them. Most l;likely a fuel pressure regulator problem
