I have a 2001 durango that first the cruise control stopped working and now the turn signals work intermittently is there a wiring harness in the steering column that could have a short?

i have a 1999 durango with the same problem i have had numurous problems with this truckI had similar with my 2000. The air bag light was on, and the cruise / stereo did not function. You need to replace what is commonly called the clock spring. You will need to remove air bag and steering wheel. Not too difficult a job.

After changing out the radiator cap thermostat radiator hoses and cleaning the cooling system what could be the reason for a Ford bronco II to overheat?

Remove trapped air from the systemI had the same problem on my 1988 2.9L Bronco II. It seems that there was air in the cooling system somewhere! I paid a fellow in Chattanooga, TN $48 to bleed the system and the problem was resolved. That was three months ago and the fix has stuck. His solution also allowed the heater to generate hot air again, which was a good thing as it gets downright chilly here in eastern Tennessee during the winter. How air gets trapped in the system is beyond me, but there you are. Hope this helps.i think how you get air bubbles in your radiator is putting the fluid in too fast. if you poor it in slow that should fix the problem if it is just air bubbles.could be something as easy as retiming your trucki had this happen to me on a 85 bronco you have to burp the system by raising the front up as high as you can or if you put the flush and fill kit on the heater hose you can put the coolant in there and that solved the problem for me

How do you remove the door panels from a 2001 GMC truck?

Removing door panel- 2002 GMC truckI just replaced my window "regulator." Removing the door panel was the trickiest to figure out. Take off the corner panel- it is connected with tabs so it just pops off. Easy. Now, the trick is to get the piece with the window/lock buttons off first- this is on by clips- you'll see two little slots to stick a screwdriver in and pop the piece up. Disconnect the wires- mark them to be sure the window goes back to window and door lock goes back to lock. The nice thing is you can now turn on your radio without that annoying "door open" beep going off- making the job that much more pleasant. There are 3 screws (require 7mm socket) in that general vicinity that need to be removed. Pop the door handle moulding off, starting from the outboard edge. Pop the manual lock casement off with a screwdriver.OK- now pull straight up- Before you walk away with it- be sure to disconnect the door light and titter speaker connections. My truck is a 2002 2500. I would gather these instructions should be pretty close for all newer GMC/Chevy trucks. The trick is knowing what is clipped in and what is screwed in. If it doesn't come apart fairly easily- reevaluate what you are doing- you are probably overlooking something.

How to Change rear brake rotor on 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

well I did it changed out the front wheel teves for the akebono calipers, as well as new pads and rotors on the rear.I had to use a meter plus long breaker bar on the top brake bracket boltsand because the braker bar would like no way fit the lower brake bracket boltI used the torque multiplier on the lower brake braket bolts.and a lot of Moovit liquid penetrant foaming liqi-wrenchI do not have a lift just jackstands to raise this truckI like the T-multiplier because the input was my old 10 inch ( tool ) hand rachet by Kanethis always surprisingly turned out those bolts with just a moderate amount of hand pressure.I could not used heat on these bolts because they were buried behind the rotor and I couldn t reach em.The breaker bar had to be at just the right angle and with enough clearance in the wheel well ,at a meter plus long that was hard to find.Likewise the torqure multiplier is about 5 inches plus thick at the handle when setup , so access to the top brake bracket bolt was not doable.Interesting note on my WJ the teves caliper pins were torques T45 type recessed pins and not hex as others have mentionedIn the end I like the operation of the torque multiplier best, just put the reaction arm against an old 2by4 on the ground or a part of the truck and the bolt will just ease on out -- but dont get anything human in there cause it really builds up pressure , I used the 4 to 1 ratio Tmultiplier but a 9 to 1 exisits alsohmm I wonder if this T-multiplier thing can twist out the lower pinch bolt in a rear automotive app for the macpherson struts were a "pinch" bolt is used instead of an air compressor wrench combo ?any way the akebono plus new napa disks are in my wj , Raybestos pads and new brake fluid , has a new car feelthe old wj never stopped better a nice upgrade mod I recommend to those with strong armshttp://www.jeepforum.com/forum/showpost.php?p=4072888&postcount=8

How do you take off a door panel on a 97 f150?

Remove Interior Door panel Mazda TruckI can answer this question for a 1999 B3000 Mazda Truck. I just figured it out. It was extremely easy. My purpose for removing my inside door panel was to replace the side view driver's side mirror. There are four screws that need to be removed. Two of them hold the plastic trim(yours could be cloth covered) that is around the opening lever mechanism for the door. But before you can remove that piece of trim you will have to remove the crank handle for the window. TO remove the crank handle- The handle itself is "capped" by a piece of plastic that when pryed upon will pop part of the way off. Where the crank handle meets the door panel, get a firm grip with your hand and tug on it gently. BE CAREFUL! as the piece of plastic cap over the handle will not come all the way off. You need only remove it enough to push it to the side a few inches so you can access the Allen screw that is running through the handle and securing it to the mechanizm that rotates and cranks the window up and down. The little round piece that you grab to spin your window crank and the cap piece of plastic that covers the handle itself do not completley separate.Once you pop that piece of plastic trim off enough to access the Allen screw- simply remove the Allen screw. This will allow the large plastic trim piece to come off easily. There is a thrid screw at the bottom of the door facing the interior of the truck if the door was closed. You can't miss it. Mine was shiny:) Remove it.THere is a fourth screw that will be instantly exposed as soon as you get the crank handle off and remove the big plastic trim piece.Remove that fourth screw and you will be able to simply lift that entire inside door panel right off the frame. Good LuckPaul in Phoenix, AZ
