I have an older ginger male stray who we took in when he was (approximately) 8 years old... he's since been fixed, but still attempts to mount a younger girl cat we have when she's on heat. Gotta give him points for trying :)
No, heat occurs when the female of an animal is ready to breed. Males are always ready to go.
Yes. My two cats were in heat when they got fixed. The vet will charge you extra, though.
Male cats do not go into heat. Only the females do.
If its female, it has to be in heat. That's if its not fixed. If its male, they'll do it when they want to and if they smell the females hormones. If they're not fixed as well.
Females spray in exactly the same way, although not as often. Female cats who are in heat are likely to spray a lot more when no in heat, to advertise herself to a male cat.
Have them spayed. (fixed) The next time they are not in heat, get them spayed.Cats normally meowing all the time when they are in heat.
Hello....bring your cat(s) to the vet to check whether she is healthy for birth control.
Male cats yowl to female cats and urinate when they are in "heat." You say he's neutered (fixed)? Well, he shouldn't be in heat AT ALL if he is neutered.
No, when a female is spayed all of her reproductive organs are removed. She can no longer come into heat and bleed.
To make sure she is in heat. Males usually do not have intrest in a female who is not in heat. Females give off a attractive scent when in heat that makes male cats come from miles away. If she is in heat he will attempt to mount her. He also licks her core (vagina) in a sexual act of mating and before fertilization.
Yes My dog Peter has locked with my female do numerous times. My female dog also was not in heat at the time. It is actually a regular occurance in my household and my male dog has been fixed for 2 years now.
Male cats do not go into heat Whole male cats are always ready, able, and willing to breed any females in heat whenever they can. As to male cats spraying, they may be more actively spraying when seasoning females are close by, but they often spray just to mark territory.
Male cats do not go int heat, neutered or otherwise; heat is a characteristic of the female oestrus cycle. Even a properly neutered male may still respond to a female in heat, out of habit. If a cat has learned to spray before he was neutered, he very likely will continue after he has been neutered. It likely will be less frequent, but it can still happen.
