Battery InterchangeYes, a van battery can be used in an automobile, IF if will physically fit in the auto's battery holder tray, is the same voltage, and can be properly secured to prevent falling out of the battery tray. The major problem is safety. Under no circumstance can the battery be located so that it is sitting on, or rubbing against, a sharp metal edge which could result in abrasion of the battery's case, releasing battery acid into the engine compartment. This would result in severe damage to components within the engine compartment, AND could be hazardous to your health and safety.A battery only has 12 volts in it so volts dont matter, thank you Lincoln Tech.
The safety switch is located under the radiator belt. You can trace the positive wire from the battery and it will end up at the safety switch.

there are small black circular pins around the shroud on top. pull them out and you will be able to access the bolt to the battery harness
