No, it uses a timing chain. The long belt that you see under the hood is a serpentine belt. Replace if excessively cracked or worn. The other smaller belt off to the right, when looking at the engine, is the Power Steering belt.
Hope this clears things up for you.
picture of engine of 1991 ford aerostar van
( there are 6 engine cylinders ) for the 1994 Ford Aerostar 3.0 liter V6 engine
Does it quit shaking when it warms up? What engine and year of Aerostar?
On a 1993 Ford Aerostar , 3.0L V6 engine : The distributor is located on the TOP of the engine , near the REAR
Have the fan motor checked to see if it's getting power. If not, then it will need to be replaced.
in the engine compartment you have relays at lease on my 1993 i have 4 the no. 4 relay if removed car wont start try this. I have a 1990 aerostar 3.0, I shut it off and at the store, then wouldn't start, and I replaced the module on the side of the distributer and it fixed the problem.
In a 1990 Ford Aerostar : You either have the 3.0 liter V6 engine or the 4.0 liter V6 engine from the factory ( each size of engine has 6 engine cylinders )
It appears that the Ford Aerostar with 3.0 engine does not have a crank position sensor, but the 4.0 engine does have one.
No
Could be a problem with the wiring from the computer to the sensor.
If it is clean, undamaged, and in good working condition.....NO. Since the radiator needs to be removed, to remove the engine, now is a good time to have it cleaned and checked.
A 1995 Ford Aerostar either has a 3.0 liter or a 4.0 liter V6 engine ( The 3.0L has the engine oil filter on the drivers side of the engine and the 4.0L it is on the passenger side of the engine )
