Depends on where/how it is installed. If it is a wood, or metal pole, you should either dig up the pole (hard), or dig down around a couple inches and cut it off below grade. If it is a metal pole, use a sledgehammer to smash down the pipe so if the dirt wahes away no one will step on it. For a roof mount, 1st remove the dish, support arm from the foot plate. You will need 2 7/16" wrenches, or a wrench and soket/ratchet. Where the mount "arm" meets the foot plate there are 2 slider carriage bolts with 7/16" nuts used for leveling. Reome nuts and bolts. In the center of the arm is a bolt that runs through the sides of the footplate and the arm. Remove this as well. LEAVE THE FOOTPLATE INTACT. You don't want to break the seal with the roof. Remove the footplate when you have replacement shingles.
It can be done, but why? In fact, it's possible to connect several dishes together, but you need support electronics and signal phasing systems. How 'bout this instead? Use a larger dish, or a dish enlargement extension kit? Trust me, it'll be a LOT cheaper and less troublesome if you do. The more signal you can capture (by the size of the dish) and focus into the LNB, the better the signal. In reality, the real size of a Ku band dish is 5 meters, and you'e most likely got an 18" dish. In this case, bigger is better.
I have beautiful old white stoneware that the finish has worn off of. Now they show gray marks from eating utensils every time I use them. I have cleaned them all up from the marks and am wondering if it is possible to re-glaze them so that they would be protected from re-marking. I am not interested in changing them, just replacing the protective clear glaze.
The local channels vary by where you live, but are usually located in the lower number channels (2-30).
No, there is a receiver in between.
An LNB is a 'Low Noise Block'. The 'block' refers to a block of frequencies (not a magic box).
It is a low noise amplifier and converter. It changes the microwaves from the satellite signal, to a different, lower frequency that the satellite receiver can handle.
A voltage is usually put on the coax from the satellite box. This selects whether the polarized signal received by the LNB, is horizontal or vertical.
If you have DISH Network you will be able to find Teen Nick on channel 181.
If you are referring to the monthly cost it would be dependent upon what type of receiver for example; high definition or standard definition, DVR capability or no DVR, single receiver or duo receiver. Currently, the charge for a additional receiver based upon capability, can cost any where from $7/mnth up to $17/mnth.
To change the mode on your receiver, on the front panel of the receiver is a 'Mode' button. Press that to change the receiver between Single and Dual mode.

It depends on which part of North Carolina you are in. There are 3 major local markets in NC.
You can go to our website dishnetwork.com and click on a link, Check TV Schedule, in the upper right hand corner of the page. After selecting the link, select your programming package, input your zip code, and select Submit. On the next page you will have a list of all channels in your package from your area. If you scroll down the list you can find your NBC channel. All local channels are listed first (channels 2-71).
First, it should be noted that all receivers are leased (even those gotten from Best Buy or Costco). The "Lease/Equipment Upgrade Fee" is generally $99 for an HD Receiver and $199 for an HD DVR from Directv themselves (not counting install or delivery & handling). That being said, depending on promotions running in a given month or whether or not you are an existing customer can change this pricing.
You have to buy a box that converts the signal from the DVD player into an RF signal. These can be found in the electronics department of most stores, or at Radio Shack.
It looks like The Haunted is aired on The Animal Planet, which is channel 184 on DISH Network. You can do a search on your receiver to find the dates and time when the program will be shown.
