What the person above is trying to say is you can do missions for strangers that you haven't done with John. There is a stranger mission that starts in Blackwater called remember my family, and if you don't do it, you don't beat the game.

In the remember my family mission you get to kill agent Ross the guy who killed John once you encounter Ross a duel will commence don't bother sparing his life by shooting his hand because it doesn't work just head shot him and avenge your fathers death PS. Congrats on completing red dead redemption.

and also after that just explore the vast west and find question marks. and try to get 100% in the game. u can do tht by getting all of the outfits and doing all the question marks etc and dont forget doing the challenges if you havent done any of them yet and if you dont know where the challenges are just go to the pause menu then click on journal and then click challenges. when you have completed the challenges you are going to get a new weapon on some of them :)

You can find them in the wild but they are extremely rare, you could do a horsebreaking job and once you have broken the horse steal the horse if it is a standard bred or if you do a lot of horsebreaking jobs you unlock it in general stores :)
