It is held in by 2 clips inside the trunk,after removing the light you will see the 2 individual sockets that hold the bulbs.. You will need 3157 or 3457 bulbs,It would be adviseable to replace all 4 when you do this and keep the good ones for spares for next time...
your rear bulb is blown - replace the bulb The turn signal blinks fast because the bulb is going out. That is also why the others dont blink.

raise the hatch pull down on the carpet, determine which light is out and twist to come out, you dont replace from the outside of the car!!!

Answer : unscrew the signal lens and remove the signal bulb and replace with 1157 bulb reverse process
Unplug the whole light assembly from the bottom front of the car it just pops out to replace the turn signal bulb-same on the rear but you have to remove the trunk lining first.
The rear turn signal on the 2009 328i is an array of LEDs and isn't a single bulb which can be replaced. The whole assembly needs to be switched out.
If you are speaking about replacing the bulb - just inside the tailgate, on either side there are little "doors" set into the decorating panel. Open them to gain access to the rear of the lens housing so that you can remove the bulb from the rear of the housing to replace it.
Open the rear hatch of your van. There are two black button like protrusions behind the hatch next to the turn signal lamp. Pry these out and remove lens. Replace bulb.
