I was told by R-Axles in Gainsville, Florida, that replacement half shafts are being plagued with problems, because of poor foreign replacements. They look great in the box, but fail, possibly like yours. I have to say, not only did R-Axles send me back an OE shaft, but inside the box was rubber gloves, papertowels and a pocket knife as a gift for the order. And extremely nice on the phone. Give em a call. CF
Usually because the switch that controls the light is stuck in the 'on'position. easily replaced w/ aftermarket switch from your local NAPA store.
The starter on a 85 Cutlass is replaced by disconnecting the battery, unbolting the starter, disconnecting the wires at the starter, and removing it from the vehicle. The new starter is then wired up and bolted to the engine block.
Check to see if the throttle plate is stuck
apparently the window motor is bad and will need replaced.
You might have a bad flywheel.
If it is like 92 Cutlass Supreme, it is 2" to right of oil filter, which is right behind rad. Replaced mine yesterday and you might as well do an oil change because, the oil filter has to come out first. Just jack front up a bit, so you can get under and unhook battery 1st. wasn't bad!!
Was there a 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais? I see them listed at 1988-1991. Assuming that you mean "wiper blade" (blade and frame) which are replaced often rather than "wiper arm" (piece from the spindle at the hood to the wiper blade) which are rarely ever replaced, ALL 1988-1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais' have 3/16" Side Lock wiper arm attachments. See Sources and Related Links below.
It is in the fuel tank so the tank has to be dropped, tank cover unscrewed, and fuel pump extracted and replaced.
I believe that a 89 Cutlass Sl does not have a distributor because of the type of ignition system, the spark and timing are controlled by the the computer if it has one.
If you have a picture I can help you tell where it is because this will vary a lot as they offered many lines of cutlass in that time period.
Get it warm and feel both heater hose's at the firewall and see if both are warm. If not, the heater core is probably plugged.
The Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme was an intermediate-size car produced by GM for the U.S. market. The Supreme sat atop the Cutlass line, beginning as a trim package and eventually becoming its own model name. The popularity of the Cutlass helped drive Oldsmobile to a million sales for the first time in 1978. More than half were Cutlasses. Production of the rear-wheel drive Cutlass ended in 1987. The last car to wear the Cutlass badge was a smaller, front-wheel drive car that left the line on July 2, 1999. It was replaced, indirectly, by the Intrigue.
