The best way to build muscle mass and lose fat is to eat protein. Main proteins like chicken and fish are the best. Lower your carb intake but do not cut them out completely. If you starve your body of carbs then you will crash and your body will begin storing fat. The same goes if you stop eating such like anorexia. Do a lot of muscle building exercises. Deadlifts, squats, bench, and free weights. Cardio is important as well. Mountain bike, run, Row, jump rope just to name a few. Change up your workout. If your going to run, do a long run one day at a medium pace, the next time do a shorter one but faster about 90% of your all out. Hiking is another way to build your legs and back. Sit ups, pull ups, pushups, swimming. All great exercises. Look into Crossfit classes or get the PX90 DVD set. These are great and creative ways to build your mass and tone your body.
