i would recomend disconnecting the battery and or pulling the airbag fuse for this. disconnect the steering shaft from the box and turn it so the wheel is centered. then put the shaft back on the box.
yes it will fit i have a 98 hilux and have fitted an 04 model gearbox but had to change the crosmember over for the later model. 98 - 02 are mostly all the LN 167r except the sr5's but will all mount up mechanically the same. SO SIMPLE ANSWER IS YES

A Case 200 steering wheel, is the model of steering wheel which attaches to a model Case 220 driving tractor.
Okay, I'm not sure which model you have but on some of them the power steering pump is actually part of the steering column. On these you need to remove the steering column to replace it. It's actually an electric pump rather than the traditional fluid pump under the hood.
Avensis 2004 (2003-2007 model) Removed as there was something rolling around inside the steering wheel, causing the horn to randomly activate Unit has airbag, I didn't fancy the idea of the unit going off so I disconnected the battery as a precaution Loosen the two "torx" screws on either side of the steering wheel (on sides next to the stereo controls on one side and blank/cellphone controls on the other side) , they will loosen, but not completely come out as they are held in by a plastic "cage". Use a magnet to 'hold' one of the torx screws out as far as possible, whilst slowly wiggling the centre of the steering wheel out on that side (it won't completely remove), repeat the same on the other side, the centre should now come out (it's a firm fit), but note that the removed piece is still connected via cables (for the airbag), I did not need to remove these to perform my repair, so I am unsure as to what would be required to 'reset' airbag (if anything) once these are disconnected. The torx screws need to be located in the plastic cages (on the recess on the Torx screw head) to hold them in place whilst refitting the centre of the steering wheel.
