Actions that may increase the risk of fire include, but are not limited to: Leaving blankets or clothes on the heater, leaving anything flammable near the heater, and leaving the heater on in an unattended environment.
Functions of a solar heater
It is safe to have a space heater, but it does have risks like anything else. If someone wants to use a space heater, they should be very careful.
Provided the heater is of a low wattage it should not affect normal running of the car
I disagree. I was having issues with my heater taking a long time to heat up. I had to have my battery replaced and my heater functioned normally after that.
In going to eat you!
Yes, a dirty cabin/pollen filter will restrict the ac/heater fan output.
NO. Bypass the heater core by connecting the Inlet & Outlet hoses going to the heater core together. Do not plug either hose.
no the freon is strictly for making cold when the a/c is being used in the summertime and what makes the heater core works when heat is needed is the coolant

When a head gasket blows, it most often causes a lose of coolant either in the exhaust or the oil. When the coolant drops, there is not enough to circulate through the heater core. The engine may over heat but no heat will come out of the heater because there is no coolant in it.
Only if your defroster uses the A/C, otherwise heater will not effect gas mileage. The heater uses the waste heat from coolant used to cool the engine, so has no extra load on the engine. The heat was going to waste anyway. You are just diverting it into the car instead of outside.
The heater core itself could not affect your acceleration, so something probably got broken or disconnected when the heater was replaced. I really couldn't say what. It would depend on if the heater is installed inside the car, or under the hood. Something else could be going on that is completely unrelated to the heater core replacement. It's not unusual, in my experience, for different things to go wrong in cars at close to the same time.
