How can a married man and a father fix the mess he did to his family if he fell in love with his mistress?

- If the mistress is completely out of the picture then the husband should take his wife out for dinner and admit what a fool he was and he has realized that 'the grass on the other side of the fence is not always greener. If the husband has not cheated before he can remind his wife that humans make mistakes and he has learned from those mistakes. If the wife accepts his apology and is willing to work on the marriage and if the children are old enough to understand; as a family all should sit down and the father should explain his feelings to his children, but assure them that he has never stopped loving them and realizes just how much he does love their mother and his children and would like to earn the trust and respect from all of them. It will be a long difficult road (the cheating man better mean what he says) because once the bond of trust is broken it is very difficult to get back. If the husband has not grown from his mistake of having a mistress and feels 'that old feeling' coming over him again and cheats again then he will be the loser for the rest of his life.

The only thing I can think of for a married man to think of his ex mistress is if he fell in love with her and he don't love his wife anymore, got spoiled on everything from her. And maybe his ex mistress is good in bed, not like his wife just doing the same old thing.
