1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN (or ON) position. (DO NOT
START THE ENGINE)
2. Wait until the safety belt warning light turns off. (Approximately 1
minute)
² Steps 3--5 must be completed within 60 seconds or the procedure will
have to be repeated.
3. Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt three times, ending with the
safety belt unbuckled. This can be done before or during Belt Minder
warning activation.
4. Turn on the parklamps/headlamps, turn off the parklamps/headlamps.
5. Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt three times, ending with the
safety belt unbuckled.
² After step 5 the safety belt warning light will be turned on for three
seconds.
6. Within seven seconds of the safety belt warning light turning off,
buckle then unbuckle the safety belt.
² This will disable Belt Minder if it is currently enabled, or enable Belt
Minder if it is currently disabled.
7. Confirmation of disabling Belt Minder is provided by flashing the
safety belt warning light four times per second for three seconds.
8. Confirmation of enabling Belt Minder is provided by flashing the safety
belt warning light four times per second for three seconds, followed by
three seconds with the safety belt warning light off, then followed by
flashing the safety belt warning light four times per second for three
seconds again.
9. After receiving confirmation, the deactivation/activation procedure is
complete.
go to the passenger side. remove fuse cover, pull fuse #6. this will disable your auto fuel pump shut off. now you can start your Jeep and go home. however, your VIC may still be flashing if it has gone to flash mode. this is just for shut down mode and won't let you start. and you can drive. the other option is to pull your battery cables and sit for for an hour. so as not to run your battery down. I would not want to short out anything as the previous poster mentioned, and risk having to get a new computer, which I already did once at $500!
Find the power wire to the speaker and cut it. Some factory alsrms have security devices included in them.
disconnect the horn.... then pull the fuse once inside for the hazards
Pull out the fuse for the Factory Alarm, and no more alarm!
where is the fuse
To disable the alarm on a 2002 Ford Explorer, disconnect the battery. Leave it disconnected for around 10 minutes. You can also pull the fuse to the alarm.
NoNo
No, remote start was not a factory option in 2000.
Cherokee Laredo, no. Grand Cherokee Laredo, yes.
There is no such thing as a 2002 Cherokee Laredo. The last year for the Cherokee was 2001, and the last year it came with the Laredo trim was 1992. I have a 2003 Cherokee Laredo so this awnser makes no sense at all. Do you have a GRAND Cherokee Laredo? Those are still being made. They are not the same as the Cherokee.
yes There was also a Laredo package for the XJ Cherokee in the 1990's.
pull the 15 amp fuse in the fuse box.
NoNo
You can not. The "alarm" is an integral part of at least three computers on the Jeep. The pcm (engine), bcm (body functions), and the skim (chip key system).

The only direct fit is what the factory installed.

The factory size is listed on the label on the driver's door jamb.
There where about three options from the factory. 3.07, 3.55, and 4.10.

Yes, Laredo is just a trim package.
Jeep did not make a Cherokee Laredo, they did make a grand Cherokee Laredo, and you can fit 31 inch tires.
