Step 1
The easiest way to make a 5 Molar HCl solution is following
Consider that your stock HCl concentration is 37.5% and S.G 1.189 gms / ml and formula weight for HCl is 36.46 gms / mole
Step 2
Now determine the Molarity of the stock Solution
Percentage x S.G / Molecular Weight
37.5 x 1.189 x 1000 / 100 * 36.46
Molarity of Concentrated - Stock HCl = 12.23 moles / liter or M
Now, to make a 5 molar solution
MiVi = MfVf
Vi = Mf x Vf / Mi
Vi = 5 x 1 / 12.23
Vi = 0.409 liter or 408.9 ml

To prepare a 5M HCl solution, you need to know the concentration of your source of HCl. Then you can use this proportion C1V1=C2V2, where C=Concentration in M(moles/liter) and V=Volume(liters).
There is 2 formula you need to know:
M: n/V and n: m/Ma Ma: Molecular mass of HCI
First step calculate the mol 2M: n/ 0.1 n: 0.2
n: m/Ma 0.2: m/ 36.5 m:7.3
Preparation: Get 7.3 ml of HCI pour it in the graduated cylinder (100ml) and add distilled water until it reaches 100ml.
Thats all.
M is for moles/L. So, you all you would need to do is add 2 times the amount in L of water to the solid HCl. For example, if you have 3 moles of solid HCl, add 6 L and you will have .5M HCl.
Add 1M HCl solution to an equal quantity of water
Take 10 mls. of 1M HCl and add distilled water till total volume becomes 100mls. now it is 0.1M HCl.

Simply add the distilled water to 1N solution and make the volume doubled.

1.21 g Tris-HCl, QS water to 1L. Scale appropriately.
Mix approx. 12 mL of HCl 30 % in 1 L water.
Preparing 1N HCl for 1L. 1N=1M in HCl. Conc. HCl= 12M M1V1=M2V2 12*V1=1*1000 V1=1000/12 V1=83.33ml 1N HCl= 83.33ml of Conc. HCl in 1L of water 2N HCl= 167ml of Conc. HCl in 1L of water.
