Before Pearl Harbor, the majority of the American public was apposed to entering the war. It was viewed as Europe's War. After Pearl Harbor though, the public stance on the matter changed dramatically.

well, after Germany sunk our boat, the Lusitania, which had innocent Americans on it, we got angry, but still didn't respond. then, Germany started sinking our merchant ships that were coming out of Britain with their U-boats, or underwater boats. then, Russia pulled out of the war because of their own civil war going on in their country which made us want to join, but we did not feel the need to. but the main reason in the Zimbarmman telegragh that Germany sent to Mexico that we intercepted. it said that Germany wanted to form a secret alliance with them, and declare war on us. that made us so angry. then we went to war in France, so that we could get to all of Europe and we ended the war in a year.
