The Pilgrims got to what is now Plymouth, Massachusetts, from Plymouth, England, by sailing vessel. One hundred of them survived the grueling 66-day journey across the Atlantic Ocean in 1620 on the good ship Mayflower.

The religious group in England known as the Pilgrims were a persecuted religious group there as the Anglican Church of England dominated Protestantism there. The Pilgrims were able to receive a charter from Great Britain to settle in North America. Their ship, the Mayflower, ran off course and instead of docking in Virginia, ended up in what is now Massachusetts. They set ashore on a place they named Plymouth Rock.

All of you who answered these questions are wrong!!! First, The Pilgrims did NOT set sail on the Mayflower from England. They fled the King of England to the Netherlands where they lived until they was able to secure the Mayflower The Mayflower took the pilgrims form the Netherlands to the Americas
