How did war reparations effect Germany?

the reparations of the Versailles treaty affected Germany because the treaty took away their land which was used to produce goods.And goods= money. the people were starving because Germany had to pay the allies and Germany lost all of its foreign colonies which again caused huge money losses.

The effect on Germany was ruinous. The reparations forced upon Germany after the war, created a severe depression in Germany and millions of people lost their jobs. It also created terrible resentment among the German people, especially those on the extreme left and right of the political spectrum. The French were the one power that insisted on reparations. The British and the Americans were much less so. The Weimar Republic was created after the war and struggled during much of the 1920's because of the reparations and political turmoil. All of this played directly into Adolf Hitler's plan.
