The first thing I would do is go buy another one so that when you take the old one off you will have something to replace it with. Your best bet is to jack the car up a little bit and use kick stands for safety purposes. Use a pair of chanel lock pliers or something similar. The idea is to get leverage (hence jacking the car up) because it will be a real pain to work under their while the car is close to the ground.
