On your alternator, there should be two bolts on either side of the alternator. Losen the surentine belt up enoungh to slide off the pully of the alternator. Remove the two bolts on both sides of the alternator and slide the alternator up.
Remove Air Cleaner Box Assembly to gain access to alternator, Loosen bolts on alternator mounting bracket to relax alternator, Push alternator towards block to relax belt and away from block to tighten. Now tighten alternator bolts while keeping tension on alternator.
Book Says: 1 Detach the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. If vehicle is equipped with Delco audio system make sure you have activation code prior to disconnect. 2 Clearly label then unplug and unbolt the electrical connectors from the alternator. 3 Remove drivebelt. 4. Remove alternator mounting bolts and the alternator. 5 Installation is reverse of removal.
alternator on a 2000 Pontiac runs off a serpentine belt if its loose then chances are ur serpentine belt is worn or stretched or your tensioner pulley is bad or the tensioner itself..alternator bolts stable does not move like the old setup.
To replace the thermostat on a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am 3.1, first disconnect the negative battery terminal and loosen the clamp on the radiator hose. Next, remove the mounting bolts from the thermostat housing and insert the new thermostat.

Remove the wiring harness from your 1992 Plymouth Grand Voyager alternator. Remove the alternator belt. Remove the alternator retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new alternator.
i had Pontiac 1994. Toremove two inner bolts i took radiator vent. To access outer bolt i took out a battery, air filter completed with a part of air intake.And i used mirror
with a wrench.
The catalytic converter on a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix is located under the vehicle. To remove it the bolts which connect it to the exhaust manifold must be removed. The bolts which connect it to the other piping will need removal as well. After all mounting hardware is off the converter will come off.
