The heater core is located under the hood inside the big box mounted to the firewall on the passenger side.
1)Remove the access panels or the split heater/air conditioning case to gain 2)access to the heater core.
3)Remove the heater coolant hoses.
4)Remove the cable and/or vacuum control lines (if equipped).
5)Remove the heater core securing brackets and/or clamps.
6)Lift the core from the case. Do not use force. Take care not to damage the fins of 7)the heater core when removing.
8)To reinstall the heater core, reverse the removal steps.
It is mounted under the drivers side of the truck in the frame rail.
No.
Check the water hoses, disconnect these and check for bolts on the firewall.
YES.
Start by removing the two heater hoses that attach to the heater core inside the engine compartment. Get rid of them and buy new ones if you can with new hose clamps. Next remove the four nuts that are on the heater housing duct inside the engine compartment. Note: If you have A/C? Getting to the left side bolt at the bottom is tricky and tight. Ahhaaaa....... This is the point I got to today and stopped because it's so darn cold out right now in Western Washington Tommorow I will tackle that tricky bolt. You will have to remove the glove box by taking out the 4 screws on the bottom and then open and lift out. Remove all bolts you can see on the ducting and get those things outta there.\ I know we will need to remove the levers that operate the ducts. Never done this on a Chevy before Oh fun! I will keep posted on the progress I make with this.
It matters if it has ac or not. If it is a non ac vehicle, the hoses and coolant flow from the fitting close to the thermostat housing to the lower heater core tube, then out the upper heater core tube to the fitting on the water pump. If it has ac, the hose from the upper heater core tube connects to the fitting on the radiator.
It is bolted to the engine block or oil pan.
No, completely different body style.
Yes it should bolt right in
You have wires going to the carb on a 72 Chevy c10?
Drop the fuel tank or remove the bed to access the pump.
A c10 is 2 wheel drive and the k10s are 4 wheel drive.
