lift the bonnet and when you look directly down on top of headlight you will see a white plastic bolt head with cross shape cut into it for adjusting with screwdriver this one is for adjusting the dip light the second screw is identical and can be found directly in line with the headlight main beam of the fitting it is accessed thru an 18mm hole in the front slam panel

I have changed the headlight but I need to adjust it as the lights don't hit the road

European Passats have a headlight leveling switch located to the left of the steering wheel (on Left Hand Drive cars). It's purpose is to provide the ability to adjust your headlights if you have a heavy load in the back of the car. If you are moving to England you need to replace your LHD headlights with Right Hand Drive headlights. There is also an aiming adjustment on the headlights themselves.
