Right at the top of the engine you will find the carb immediatley to the right on the carb you will see a flat head screw this will adjust your idle , helps to have a second person on this.

User Avatar

Idle speed is set by the PCM and is not adjustable. The screw you are fiddling with is just the stop screw to adjust the initial throttle plate position, it should not be used to attempt to adjust the idle.

User Avatar

The idle is not adjustible. You may need to clean the throttle plate to improve the idle.

User Avatar

There is none. It is electronic. Try replacing the idle motor.

User Avatar

You can't - it's all controlled from the PCM.

User Avatar

Idle speed is set by the PCM and IS NOT ADJUSTABLE.

User Avatar

The idle is control by the idle air control motor from outputs from the Engine Control Module.

User Avatar

There is no adjustment, the idle is controlled electronically. If you have idle problems you may have a vacuum leak somewhere.

User Avatar

You probably can't. fuel injected cars have the idle set by the ecm.

User Avatar

It is not adjustable. The idle speed is computer controlled with a AIS stepper motor.

User Avatar

In most 1990s and later vehicles you cannot adjust the idle. It is controlled by the ECM or computer. An idle that is not correct indicates something like a vaccuume leak or a sensor issue.

The idle is controls ONLY by the PCM. Replace your ECTS along with cleaning the Idle Air Control valve located on the throttle body.

User Avatar

Why adjust idle... if this is a n/a you need to just leave it alone unless you have a consistent idle less than 900 or more that 1100 .... You will get no gain from this and if you don't have a consistent idle there is probably something else wrong.....

User Avatar

The idle adjustment screw of the idle control valve is what needs adjusting. Either opening or closing the valve moves the throttle plate and adjusts the idle.

User Avatar

you can adjust it via the idle control valve.

User Avatar

It is not adjustable, the computer controlls it through an electric idle speed motor on the intake.

User Avatar

Idle speed is computer controlled and is not adjustable. If the speed is incorrect, there is a computer, sensor, or actuator failure.
