How do you adjust the clutch on a PW-50?

by changing the clutch springs.. weak/aged springs = low rpm/slow take off, stiffer springs= higher rpm/ faster take off. 1. drain oil and remove right hand side engine cover. 2. remove clutch bowl. (remove circlip & slide bowl off) 3. clutch pads are now exposed, the clutch springs hold these pads together. 4. remove and replace these springs.

Can certain vehicles be started by keeping the gears engaged?

Yes, a manual transmission vehicle can be started by turning on the ignition, engaging the clutch, pushing the vehicle and letting out the clutch when enough speed is reached. When the kick start broke on my Honda when I was a kid I did that for months before I had the money to repair it, I found that being in a higher gear made the start easier as long as you are quick to reengage the clutch when the motor catches.

Why the engine revs is going higher when pressing clutch down and changing gears?

Every time you engage the clutch, the clutch disengages from the transmission/engine. Which in term engine revs up, until you disengage the clutch.

What is the cause of hard shifting on a 2006 Harley Davidson XL 883 Sportster?

Hard shifting is caused by improper clutch cable adjustment or worn clutch plates. To adjust the clutch cable, loosen the locking nut at the hand grip and turn the adjustment screw outward, away from the end of the handle grip. Tighten the locknut, take the bike for a spin. It will either shift easier or the clutch will slip,(higher revving of the engine without going any faster0. If the clutch slips, back the adjusting screw to a closer position to the end of the handlegrip. If it is hard shifting again, probably the clutch is worn and needs replacing.

Is the problem with my Corsa 1.4 R reg a gearbox or clutch problem When putting the car into reverse I get one big crunch i have heard there is no syncromesh on the reverse so is it the clutch cable?

Mines a1.7 diesel but I think the clutch arrangement is the same. visually the clutch pedal is higher should be higher than the brake pedal. To check You measure the at rest distance the top of the clutch pedal to the top of steering wheel to the pedal depressed position to the top of the steering wheel 126- 132mm you adjust by going to the engine compartment levering with a long screwdrive the lever backwards and unclipping the cable. Wind the plastic knob reseat by movinf the lever and clipping in place again repeat until setup correctly

How do you know when the clutch is on its way out?

The clutch will slip in higher gears first. Cruise about 40 mph in 4th gear and step on it, if the rpm's go up more then the speed your clutch is going

How do you know if your hydraulic clutch on your 1996 Sunfire is going out.?

If you clutch and it either goes all the way in with no pressure there is a leak in your slave cylinder or the higher you have to clutch means your clutch is sliping and has to be replaced. If your doing a lot of power shifting i would suggest you get a racing clutch instead.
