Mine went out 2 months ago. 95 Ford Probe 2.0L 4cyl. Buy a brand new clutch master cylinder. Used ones are not reliable unless they're rebuilts/refurbs. Take lose the lines/hoses connecting to your master cylinder making sure you plug them (i used a nail for the rubber hose and securely let the metal ones hang). The brake fluid from the hoses will eat off your paint if you're not careful. You may want to unbolt your charcoal canister and move it out of the way for more space. Unbolt the master cylinder from the firewall. (if memory serves me correctly, one of the bolts is fastened from the firewall, the other from inside the drivers compartment. This one is very hard to get to, the bolt is located directly above/around the rod that connects the clutch pedal to the master cylinder. It may take you awhile to locate it) Once you get that lose, remove the clutch master cylinder.

What you need to do next is bench bleed the new clutch master cylinder. Refer here http://www.negative-camber.org/crispyrx7/929.htm The Probe system is extremely similar owing to its Mazda roots. You do not have to recycle the brake fluid (I didn't have any tubes to run it back into the reservoir), just make sure you have lots of brake fluid from your auto parts place ;). Take and install the new CMC after you've bled it. DO NOT put it in there without it being bled. After you get it bolted down from both sides of the firewall, reconnect your hoses.

Heres the part where you need a friend (this part is also detailed very well in the article I pasted). Have your mate sit in the driver seat and slowly press in the clutch pedal (don't press it all the way down to the floor). Loosen the wheel cylinder nut at the rear passenger tire. Now have them press. When they reach a stop, quickly tighten the wheel cylinder again, then have them release the pedal. Repeat this until each time when they press down nothing but a steady stream of brake fluid shoots out of the wheel cylinder spout. Repeat for all four tires. And then go back and double check them all in the same manner. That's really all there is to it. It's a project you can do in a day. I believe the wheel cylinder nuts are an 8mm. I think the lines to the CMC are 8s or 10s. The bolts on the CMC mount is 14s I think.

I really suggest a Haynes manual, and scour the net for bench bleeding. You won't require any odd tools, other than something to bench bleed the CMC with, I used the handle of a wooden kitchen spoon used for mixing. Other than that-

Best wishes on your endeavour

How do you get to the reservoir for the clutch in a 95 Ford Probe?

The clutch master cylinder is fed through a hose from the brake master cylinder reservoir. It is located on the firewall under the hood directly in front of the steering wheel, under the wiper motor.

The clutch is gaining and losing compression in a 1989 probe plus leaking wheres the problem?

The clutch has two main parts; the master clutch cylinder and the slave cylinder. Follow the line down from the master cylinder to find the slave. Most of the time the slave needs to be rekitted or replaced and then bled. That should fix it.

Where is the location of the master clutch slave cylinder on a 1991 Ford Probe?

I have an automatic. But (usually) The Slave Cylinder is on the transmission, easily accessible and easy to replace. It's a small thing on the transmission (usually) with a rubber boot with a piston inside. Have to bleed the clutch master cylnder as well. -CE

Where is the clutch gasket tank located on a 1993 probe gt?

Sorry but your question makes no sense. If you are asking where is the hydraulic clutch reservoir, then if it has one, it is located somewhere near the master cylinder, usually mounted on the firewall.

How do you bleed the slave cylinder on a 1989 Ford Probe?

There is a bleeder valve on the front of the clutch slave cylinder right next to the line running in. You pump the clutch a little and then you hold it to the floor while someone opens the valve and it spits the fluid out then you close it and repeat until it has no air in it and the clutch is tight. If it is for the brakes the bleeder valves are on all the brakes and you do it the same way with all four starting with the brake farthest from the brake master cylinder and work your way closest to the master cylinder. That is how you do it.

Where is the clutch gasket on a 1993 probe gt?

In my 20 plus years of working professionally on cars, and for Ford Motor Company, I have never heard of a "clutch gasket." I have absolutely no idea what you are asking about. But if you want to see some funny blank stares, you could go to the parts dept of your nearest Ford dealership and ask for a clutch gasket. Are you talking about a seal in the hydraulic clutch system? If so, then you don't need to worry about finding a seal, since hydraulic clutch componets are serviced as assemblies. In other words, if you have a leaking master cylinder, replace the master cylinder. If you have a leaking slave cylinder, replace that.

Is it a big job to replace the clutch master cylinder on a '91 Probe if you are not a professional mechanic?

Its not bad, but if you've never done it before, go get a repair manual form an autoparts store. You will need to know what you are doing when you bleed it.
