You cant..it is a sealed unit...maint. free
Oh man! 'You' CANNOT change the tranny fluid unless you have a special mechanic's tool and it most be put up on a lift to do so! The cadillac catera has what is called a SEALED TRANSMISSION ofcourse so you have to take it to a shop. My grandson just bought a used one and we just wanted to check the fluid level and had to take it in for even that!! God Bless, grandmom in N.J.
The oil fill is on the drivers side of the engine. There is no transmission dip stick, because it is a sealed transmission. There is a fill plug on the side of the transmission that if removed and transmission fluid leaks out, the level is fine.
No where! It doesn't have one. The transmission is a sealed unit. Tha vehicle needs to be raised and level. There is a plug on the right side of the pan that needs to removed, the oil level is chaecked and refilled at that point.
Check fluid level in the resovior tank. If fluid level is OK, check the level switch. The level switch controls the dash light. If fluid id OK, and you dont want to replace the switch...unplug it.
There is none. Same french-built sealed system transmission used on BMW 3 series of common years. Only way to check it is to remove plug and make sure fluid level is to bottom of lip for plug bolt.
Through the fluid dipstick tube. Ensure you check level will idling....
there is a plug on the side of the trans under the vehicle the fluid level should be even with the bottom of that plug hole
. You cannot check it because its a sealed system you must go to a shop. you cannot add any tran fluid because its sealed. . Let me add something here. I just changed my transmission in my 1997 Catera. You have to raise the vehicle level. Go under and while the engine is running and up to operating temperature just like any automatic transmission. There is a filler bolt on the passenger side of the transmission. That bolt comes out and you use a pump to pump out the fluid to transmission. You know it is full when it starts to come out the hole. Fluid level suppose to be to the bottom of the thread of the bolt hole. This is very similar to manual trans-axles not hard to do once your car is up off the ground. I have changed 5 Catera Transmissions in the last 2 years. In different cars.
There is no transmission dipstick. Check fluid level by removing the inspection plug on the left side of the transmission. Only check fluid level with engine running otherwise fluid will overflow through the hole since fluid accumulates in pan with engine off. Normal level is to the top of the port. Also, if you have the automatic transmission on your 2003 CTS, there is no way to check the fluid level. See your owner's manual.
You can check the transmission fluid level in your 1998 Chevrolet Corvette with the transmission fluid dipstick. The transmission fluid dipstick will have indicating marks as to the level of the transmission fluid.
How do you check the transmission fluid level on 1999 jetta GLS?
The G5 has a transmission dipstick. Find it and check the fluid level as normal.
