How do you close a moon roof that is stuck open?

If you kinda know your way around the vehicle,

1. Remove trim around the headliner.

2. Remove the screws that secure the housing to gain access to the wiring, find the small plug connector.

2. Get a cheap test light to check the wires for power when you press the switch. You should ground the alligator connector to an unpainted metal surface. Then check a known power source. eg. The center of your cigar outlet. Be careful when doing this, if you touch the sides, and the center at the same time you will pop your fuse.

3. Probe each wire one at a time each time pressing the switch.

4. If there is power skip to #8. If not, take a piece of wire and cut it in half. Strip the ends and put it back together separated with a fuse no larger than a 20 amp blade.

5. Find a known power wire and splice one end to it.

6. Now remove some insulation at each of the two wires by the lift motor.

7. apply your new power wire to one wire and see if it moves one way or the other, if it moves further up, or attempts to, apply it to the other wire.

8. Remove any screws that would allow access to the linkage. Disconnect the power plug, and try to manually operate the linkage, or try turning the gears.
