Look under the dash on the driver side near the hood release lever. I have found the control box for the keyless entry system zip-tied in that area on several Subies. It will actually be labeled as such. Locate the box and trace the wiring coming out of it. There should be a fuse along the wiring. Pull that fuse out and the system is disabled.
Turn the key in either front door or the liftgate.

most cars with key less entry have a key some where in the alarm its self that key can get you into the car but not turn on the car. to be able to turn on the car you would have to put a new battery in it. With this key you be able to at least gain entry.
The dealer can clear all old remotes with their scan tool.

If you have a remote that locks/unlocks your door when you push the button. It's the same kind of control that is used to activae/deactivate alarm systems.

It's probably on quiet mode. Here's how to undo it: Hold the lock and un-lock button on the controller till you hear a single honk along with flashing hazards. Should take at most 10 seconds but usually less. You can do this procedure to enable or disable.
