I had the same problem with my Jetta. You need to disconnect the alarm from the battery and reconnect it. Also, to prevent it from locking and alarming again lock and unlock all of the doors while your driving before you stop and turn the car off. You will need to eventually get another key but in the meantime...
I have a 2003 Navigator and i want to disable valet parking. it is an after factor alarm.
The "Valet Mode" for car alarms is essentially an "off" switch, for the occasion that you let a Valet park you car, for instance at a fancy hotel, casino, or repair shop. It is basically to keep the alarm from going off while someone unfamiliar with how your security system works is driving the car.
Valet mode disables the alarm, if you want starter kill do not disable the alarm.
A visual notification that the alarm is in valet mode is the LED light is on solid. If the LED is on solid and you wish to make the alarm active again, turn the ignition "on" then, press and hold the valet/programming switch for two seconds. The LED light will turn off.If the LED light is not on solid then, the issue may be with siren itself.
Valet mode on a car's security systems allows all alarm functions to be bypassed, with the exception of the remote panic features and door locks.
There is a disable switch called (valet switch) under the driver side of dashboard. Switching to opposite position should disable the alarm system.
Your car alarm should have a valet switch, which is named for exactly that situation.
There is not a fuse that you can pull. If you are asking because you only have a valet key and your alarm is active (goes off for ~30 seconds every time you start the car), try opening the trunk, or trunk then driver door then unlocking all doors, then start the car again. The trunk lock has a switch that disables the alarm when it is opened with the key.
If you have a valet switch, just hold it in for a few seconds with the alarm off and release when it beeps or blinks the LED. You may be able to unhook the battery briefly to reset the alarm's status.
the valet switch is feature of an alarm system that is not factory...the installer may have placed the button just about anywhere...within reach of the driver usually...good luck..:)
I also have a problem with an annoying alarm on my firebird, depending on whether it is an aftermarket system or a factory system here are a few ideas that may help. 1. Some alarm systems will have a switch underneath the driverside dash, flip it on and off three times (sometimes its a differant number) and it should do the trick. 2. Aftermarket alarm systems usually have the fuse for the alarm in the somewhere in the factory fuse box, although this fuse will most likely not be labled if u one by one disconnect differant fuses and check to see if the alarm is still working it is worth the time. 3. Depending on the alarm there may be a valet switch located somewhere in the cabin, the valet switch will temporaraly disable the alarm until you switch it back on. 4. I dont recommend using this last bit of advice im about to give but if the alarm is annoying enough and you have just about had it with the system you can disable the horn simply by finding the marked fuse. The factory security system does not have a valet switch.
