Underneath your hood, behind the passenger side headlight, behind the core support, is a bank of 2-8 relays. One of those relays is the relay needed for your fuel pump. There will also be a fuel pump relay fuse located there.
You can find it under the dash board.
It is under the hood at the right rear of the engine compartment at the antenae.

There is a fuel pump relay switch for your 1988 GMC Safari. You can find the fuel pump relay switch at most auto-parts stores.
The starter relay is on the driver's side fender behind the battery.

Follow the spark plug wires to the rear of the engine and you will find the coil packs.
Mounted to a relay thats screwd in to the plastic glovebox. just open it unscrew the screws and take it out and you will see the relay attatched to the glovebox.
v-6 located between the center firewall and on the top rear of engine. has one wire connector on it. In the exhaust header between the engine and the radiator. Couldn't be easier to find and work on.
