It sounds as though the wiper arm that controls the wipers is attached backwards. I would call a mechanic and have the wiper motor taken off and put back on.
The wiper park arm on these cars are prone to failure.you will probably need a new one.Its attached directly to the wiper motor. If you are mechanically inclined you could probably change it yourself. You need to remove the wiper motor/wiper transmission from the car.the park arm is held onto the motor with one bolt on a splined shaft, they are difficult to syncronize correctly so make sure when you remove the old arm you note its position so you can line the new one up correctly
this also is happening to me right now, and 600 dollars later i still have windshield wipers that work perfectly unless in intermittent, in which case they pause upright... Remove the plastic that covers your wiper motor just below the windshield. On the wiper motor there is a small plate held on by screws, remove the plate. You will see two metal tabs, one of which appears bent. Bend it back and reassemble. The problem usually occurs when the wipers are held in place, by ice for instance, and the switch is turned on.
1997 gran prix wipe stay in upright possission when shut how to fix
The "park" switch inside the wiper motor assembly has failed.
I have a 2004 and the same problem, did you ever find out why? Thanks Jeff
The wiper motor has a switch inside of it. When they are turned off and the wipers go to the down position it trips the switch in the motor that tells the computer they are in the down position. If that switch in the motor is faulty, the wipers are repositioning until the switch is tripped to the off position. THE FIX.... Replace the wiper motor.
The steering and ignition will become locked on a 97 Chevy Cavalier if the key is not inserted into the ignition and turned. This helps to prevent theft.
It means you have turned the Traction Control off.
WHEN YOU SELECT RECIRCULATE THE HUMIDITY LEVEL CAN INCREASE SIGNIFICANTLY IN THE CAR SO THE A/C IS TURNED ON TO DE-HUMIDIFY THE AIR, JUST SELECT A WARMER SETTING TO MAKE IT COMFORTABLE.
5 positions... the only position that is not turned out is parallel
I think you mean the five positions. In First Position your heels are touching with your toes turned away from your body. In Second Position your feet are shoulder width apart and toes turned away from body. In Third Position your feet are turned outwards but one heel is on the middle inside of the foot In Fourth Position your feet are turned outwards and separated one foot is about 5 in. to 1 ft. in front. In Fifth Position your feet are turned outwards and one heel touches the tip of your toes.
They come on when you turn on the windshield washer, but only when the headlights are turned on.
If the windshield wipers work when pushing the lever down but not when they are turned on all the time, the problem could be in the wiper motor relay switch. There are two different relay switches for the windshield wipers, so that if the one fails a person can still clear the windshield manually.
