Accelerate easier, coast instead of braking hard, limit idle time.
98 and older there is a screw secured with a locknut in top of the fuel injection pump. CW=more fuel. Any newer and it's digital, you'll have to use a programmer/performance "chip"
if you have a first gen (1989 to 1993) 12 valve cummins.turn the fuel screw one turn or more turns to create horspower and torqe and black smoke. but if you have a gen 2 a (1994-1998) then you have to move your fuel plate up.
The fuel pump on a 2005 Ram with a Cummins is not adjustable. If you want more power or smoke you need to purchase and instal a programmer.
Yes, higher rpm uses more fuel
Cummins recomends no more than 5% bio diesel.
12 Valve cummins have a mechanical fuel pump & can be turned up to dump more fuel into the motor. 24 valve cummins are computer controlled & can get a substantial increase of power through a computer chip, module, or tuner. Both engines will also see a significant increase with bigger fuel injectors, aftermarket turbo(s), larger exhaust, larger fuel pumps, aftermarket intercooler, propane injection, water methanol injection, and nitrous injection. Its not so much turning up the power as it is turning up the amount of released fuel. you can also turn down the idle in the same area as the mechanism for the fuel. to the right of the first cylinder ( the one closest to the grill ) there is a cylindrical cast metal object simply remove the cover and there you have the idle adjustment, tight for low idle=less fuel idling or loosen for more fuel and faster idle. below the capped cast object there is a threaded rod with a nut on it, again loosen for more fuel=more smoke, cooler motor, and torque increase or tighten for less fuel=less smoke, less power, and more heat
the lower compression of the marine pistons will alow you to cram more air and fuel into your motor, the disadvantages are harder starts in the cold and maybe some drivability issues.
more fuel gets in to cylinders for more power
Flow valve for what? Coolant, transmission fluid, fuel, what? You need to be more specific.
turn the fuel screw one turn or more turns to create horspower and torqe and black smoke the full screw will work for gen 1 pickups but if you have a gen 2 a (1994-1998) then you have to move your fuel plate up.
No you cannot "chip" the 93 cummins. It is a mechanical fuel system with almost no electronics. What you can do is replace the fuel plate, bigger injectors, exhaust, etc. I highly suggest researching thing a lot more before you do it though.
Injectors, cold air intake, performance module(edge juice with attitude), fuel pump
