I got mine off - just hit a deer going way to fast
Take a flat head screw driver and pop off the outside cover at the top connected to the head liner. That will reveal 3 screws, unscrew and that's it
There's a torx screw at the base of the mirror that you loosen to take the mirror off the mounting plate.

Remove the inside door panel. Remove the wiring harness. Remove the mirror retaining bolts. The side rear view mirror will come off.
There are screw covers on the rear-view mirror housing. Pop these covers off with a thin and flat tool, then tighten the screws that hold the housing to the car.
