Take the Downtown 2 or 3 express trains (of the 1-2-3, the red line) from 34th Street-Penn Station to Fulton Street. Transfer at Fulton Street to the Downtown 4 or 5 express trains (of the 4-5-6, the dark green line), 1 stop, to Bowling Green.

You'll exit the subway at Bowling Green park. This is a triangular park, with the base at the south end, and the top point facing north. The street named Bowling Green forms the south end (the base), and Broadway forms the west and east sides. There are essentially two Broadways here: one forming the west side of the triangle, and the other forming the east side of the triangle.

You'll exit the subway at the south end (at Bowling Green, the base of the triangle). Depending on which exit you use, you may exit at the south west corner, or the south east corner.

If you exit at the south west corner, then walk across to the south east corner. From the south east corner, walk 1 block south on Broadway to Stone Street. Turn left onto Stone Street, and walk 1/2 a block east on Stone Street to 8 Stone Street, between Broadway and Broad Street.

What is the price for a cab from Penn Station to the American Museum of Natural History?

It's about a $10 to $12 cab ride, not including tip and extra fees (such as the $1 surcharge between 4 and 8 PM on weekdays). But you really don't need to take a taxi. Getting there by subway from Penn Station is very, very easy. You take the Uptown C train (of the A-C-E, the blue line) from Penn Station (34th Street) to 81st Street. The 81st Street & Central Park West Station comes out right in front of the museum. In fact, the walls of the 81st Street & Central Park West Station are covered with tile murals of dinosaurs and other animals, so it's really easy not to miss your stop, seeing as the train passes right by the murals. To get back, you take the same train -- the C -- but Downtown this time.

Does the sixth train station stop at 34th street penn station?

What are you talking about? If you mean the 6th Avenue trains, they stop one long block away at 34 St and 6th Avenue. If you mean the #6 train, it stops about 7/8 of a mile away at 33 St. and Park Avenue South. Neither stops right in Penn Station. Only the 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue trains do that.

Distance from Penn Station to 42nd Street New York?

Penn Station is at West 33rd - West 34th Street, from 7th to 8th Avenue. In New York City, approximately 17 to 20 street blocks (south/north blocks) equals a mile, and approximately 3 to 4 avenue blocks equals a mile. The distance from 34th Street to 42nd Street is 8 blocks, so, Penn Station is less than half a mile from West 42nd Street.

How would you get from Penn Station to East 23rd Street and first Avenue by subway?

There is no convenient way to get there by subway, because you need to go pretty much straight across town, and there are very few subway lines that run crosstown.I would just walk or take a cab. It's only a little over 1.5 miles (2.4 km): 10 or 11 blocks south to 23rd Street, then 8 or 9 avenue blocks east to 1st Avenue. Penn Station is at 33rd to 34th Street, between 8th and 7th Avenues. Actually, technically it's 9 or 10 blocks east, counting Broadway, but Broadway runs diagonally north/south and cuts between avenues, so the blocks it runs between are not full length. If you really want to take the subway, then you can take the Uptown E train (of the A-C-E, the blue line) from 34th Street-Penn Station to Lexington Avenue-53rd Street. This station is connected to the 51st Street Station on the 6train (of the 4-5-6, the dark green line). Take the Downtown 6 to 23rd Street (at Park Avenue South, 4 blocks east of 1st Avenue). There's another route you can take. You'd have to make 2 transfers, but there'd be fewer stops, and you wouldn't be taken as far out of your way. You can take the Uptown 1-2-3 (the red line), 1 stop, from 34th Street-Penn Station to 42nd Street-Times Square.Transfer at Times Square to the S shuttle train (color grey) east across 42nd Street, from Times Square (West 42nd) to Grand Central Station (East 42nd). At 42nd Street-Grand Central Station, transfer to the Downtown 6 to 23rd Street.

How far is Penn Station from 40th Street?

Not very far. Penn Station is between 7th and 8th Avenues, from approximately West 33rd to West 34th, and Grand Central Station is at 42nd and Lexington. Approximately 17 to 20 street blocks (north/south) blocks equals a mile, and approximately 3 to 4 avenue blocks (east/west blocks) equals a mile. So the distance between the two stations is about one and a half miles.

How far is Battery Park from Times Square?

From the southwest corner of Central Park (59th Street and Central Park West) it's about four and a half miles, according to Google Maps. Central Park is two and a half miles long, and about half a mile wide, so, depending on where in the park you are starting out from, the walk would be a mile or two longer.

What is the distance from Barrow Street NYC to Times Square?

Times Square is less than half a mile from Penn Station. Penn Station is at West 33rd to West 34th Streets, between 7th and 8th Avenues. The heart of Times Square is at West 42nd and 7th Avenue. So, Times Square is 8 blocks north of Penn Station. When you exit Penn Station, you will come out either at the west or the east entrance. The east entrance is at 33rd - 34th and 7th Avenue, and the west entrance is at 33rd - 34th and 8th Avenue. Walk north on either 7th or 8th Avenue, until you hit 42nd Street. If you're walking on 8th Avenue, then turn right at 42nd Street, and walk one block east to West 42nd and 7th.

Which train do you take to 34th Street the 2 train or 5 train?

Take the 2 train. The 2 train stops at 34th Street-Penn Station (at 7th Avenue). The 5 train (of the 4-5-6, the dark green line) does not stop at 34th Street. Instead, you would have to transfer to the Downtown 6 at 42nd Street-Grand Central Station, and take the 6 one stop to 33rd Street (at Park Avenue South).Although, if you are going very far east on 34th Street (like, 3rd, 2nd or 1st Avenue) then you may want to take the 5 and transfer to the 6, because the walk from the station will be much shorter. The 1-2-3 line runs on the West Side, while the 4-5-6 runs on the East Side.
